Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 24

Day 24 is inspired by a game. I decided to do a mani based on card games. My family plays a lot of card games plus I work at a casino so it seemed to be a perfect idea. So you can imagine this as almost any card game though I'm going to go with Three Card Poker.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 23

Today I have a mani inspired by nature. I decided to do flowers. This is my nail art with a brush at it's best. I am pretty happy with the result because I didn't want the flowers to look perfect. I think they look like pink pansies.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 22

The theme for day 22 is to create a mani inspired by fabric. I searched through my massive amount of clothes looking for something original. I decided to use a sweater I recently bought for the pattern. It almost reminds me of a camo pattern with different colors.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 21

Today's theme is merge or melt. Since I did a melt that was supposed to look like icicles, I decided to try a merge mani. I was tempted to do a zipper but thought a water marble would be cooler looking.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 20

I am a bit bummed about this theme. The theme is texture. I had ordered OPI The Impossible which is from the Mariah Carey collection. It is one of the liquid sand polishes. It has yet to arrive so I came up with something else. I had seen someone use sugar but I don't remember where. It works for me since I am changing my polish everyday.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 19

So the theme today is my favorite polish. I had to think about this because I love a few different polishes. I went with Max Factor Fantasy Fire due of the fact that I love multichrome polishes. This one shifts from red to copper to gold to green. It is still my most expensive bottle of polish. I try to not use it much since it is such a small bottle.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 18

Day 18 is your oldest untried. This was hard for me to figure out. I have used almost all of my polishes in some way. As I was rummaging through my polish rack, I found this beauty by Butter London. I totally forgot I had this polish laying around. It was hiding which is mean because I would have used it much earlier than now. I guess I probably bought too much polish at one time and this one got tucked away.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 17

Day 17 is for me to do a new technique. This is awesome because I had just found out how to do a look similar to using OPI Black Spotted. The best part is I can have different colors on top... and it was super easy too!

January Beauty Army box

I got my January Beauty Army box today... Yay! I love that I get to pick my samples from a list. This month I got an extra sample because it is Beauty Army's one year birthday.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 16

Day 16 is color opposites. I found a pie graph showing color opposites and these two colors of orange and blue were opposite of each other. I decided to use striping tape and make a design with it. It almost turned out the way I had expected. I just wish the lines were neat and none of the blue polish had lifted. I do have to say that this reminds me of the Denver Broncos. I don't like the Broncos, I am a San Diego Chargers fan!

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 15

The theme for Day 15 is water color nails. I have never done this and hope I did ok. I found a YouTube video by MissJenFABULOUS that seemed pretty easy. I decided using my new Pretty & Polished Pretty Chameleon would be pretty cool. My mani has many looks to it since Pretty Chameleon changes from light pink when warm to a fuchsia pink when cold.

Here are my nails completely warm

Here are my nails changing from cold to warm.

I put my nails in cold water so the polish would be dark pink though standing outside for 5 minutes would have worked as well.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 14

The theme for day 14 is stamping. I like using stamps. You can make so many different looks with them. I especially like them since I have absolutely no skills using a brush. So I decided to use two different stamp images since I am still trying to do a different technique. I think using two different stamps count right?

#8 Let It Snow Challenge: Icicles

This week's theme is icicles. I haven't seen too many icicles yet this winter but I'm sure it will happen soon enough. I can't believe that we are half way done with the challenge. Even though winter is my favorite season, I am excited for spring flowers on my nails.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 12

Well I posted this after day 13 but not a big deal. What's 20 minutes right? I'm posting a few posts today since I am feeling better. Day 12 is a tape mani. I like using tape... I hate when the polish gets under some of the tape and leaves not so straight lines. That only happened on one of my nails which is cool.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 13

I am now further behind due to getting rear-ended a couple days ago. I'm ok, just have neck and upper back pain. I am trying my best to stay relaxed, keep heat on it, and take my meds. I can say I feel a bit better than yesterday. Anyways, day 13 is a cheer yourself up mani. I'm pretty easy when it comes to that. I think holo and duo chrome polishes do it for me.

January Birchbox

Oh no... no bueno! I am not excited about anything in this months box ☹. I know I will probably use this stuff but probably wouldn't go and buy any of it. Here is the stuff I got...

This Month's Box

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 11

I guess I've slowed down on catching up. Not a big deal as long as I don't get any more behind. The theme for day 11 is splatter. This is my second attempt at doing splatter nails. This time I decided to not use Vasoline when doing it and my cleanup wasn't too bad. I am really trying to not use the same colors very often. I actually just got Zoya Mitzi in the mail yesterday so I chose that as my first color. I noticed my Floam and it was figured out. Too easy!

January Ipsy bag

Here is the first Ipsy bag of the year. The theme is all about Super Stars. I think it came with a little bit of everything... stuff for your hair, nails, skin, and eyes.

Here are the January Super Stars.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 10

So I decided to go with circles for day 10. Day 10's theme is geometric and I am pretty sure circles fall in to that category. This is a new technique for me. I'm not sure I'm diggin' it. It does look cool but I had to keep going back to fill in empty spaces in the circles. If you see my thumb, it had a fight with a comupter and technically won but got cut. It went down pretty far which sucks.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 9

So day 9's theme is saran wrap. I decided to do a blue and white look which I thought would be fitting for winter. I think those colors remind me of cold things like my toes right now. I really need to put them under my blanket or wear socks but for some reason I don't. I'm silly I guess :)

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 8

I had a few choices for day 8... duochrome, holo, or flakies. I went with holo so I can showcase my spectraflair polish I made around Christmas. This is the first time wearing it and I gotta say I did good! Hopefully you all agree.

#7 Let It Snow Challenge: Fireside Glow

Here is my version of a fireside glow. I wish I was in front of a fire... my toes are freezing! I had a thought of stamping on a crisscross/fishnet image for a fireplace screen but didn't want to hide it.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 7

Day 7 is the choice between an ombre or skittle mani. I haven't done skittle nails in forever so that's what I chose to do. Mine are more tropical skittles though because I used brighter colors. It definitely doesn't scream winter even though it is freezing outside right now.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 6

So day 6 is my favorite color family... so it is all about greens. I am trying something new that looked very cool on The Beauty Department's blog. They did a herringbone look using mani guide strips. I did pretty good though I found a few things that I should change for next time.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 5

Purple for Day 5. Yay! This one was too easy to figure out. I have a nice selection of purple polishes... not too many or too little. Since I am doing a different style every day, I decided to do half moons. I need easy and quick looks during the week. I don't have too much spare time.

1/09/2013

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 4

Today is all about pink... my second favorite color. I have quite a few pink polishes and had a lot of ideas. I was going through my stamp plates and came across this plate. I decided it had to be a lighter shade of pink.

#6 Let It Snow Challenge: Winter Solstice

I gotta say that this was extremely hard for me to come up with something cool and clever. I know that the Winter Solstice is the day with the shortest amount of daylight hours. I decided I wanted to do a night sky with a little sun... like a full 24 hour day. I thought a jelly sandwich would be cool using my Lynderella The Stars In Her Eyes and Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe. I was right about that! It looked so much better in person. I think I'm gonna have to rock this again without the gold glitter.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 3

Here is day 3 of my 31 day journey. Today is all about gold. I am not a gold fan so I don't have too many options to play with. I am going to try to do a different design with each day.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 2

Well catching up in my challenges is definitely a challenge. My sister adopted a cute Shih Tzu and we are trying to get her all situated in the house. The other animals are slowly coming around. With that in mind, it is very hard to do my nails. Day 2 is all about Silver.

Crumpet's New 31 Day Challenge: Day 1

Here I am already behind. I'll catch up in a few days. Day 1 is Black & White. I had many ideas for this and thought it would look cool to use my Lynnderella Connect The Dots over something black and white. I painted black shapes over the white.

#5 Let It Snow Challenge: New Year's

I meant to post this yesterday but didn't. No excuses except maybe laziness. I am going to get back to posting like I did before last month came. I actually want to start a 31 day challenge and need to do days 1 & 2 to catch up. Anyways, here is my New Year's Eve mani. It has a lot of different things going on. I think I added the different shots to show it off.
