I read this on The Beauty Department's blog and thought it was a great idea. A lot of us have to be somewhat normal looking at work... like having natural hair color. This is a great substitute for having streaks of vibrant color in hair. Use only soft pastels! Soft chalk pastels can be found at any major art store.

Entertain Sticks n Stones
I'm excited about how much I love the Sticks n Stones polish by Cover Band. It is full of different types of black and white glitter.

Golden Tarte
I was in the mood for some ultra shimmer action. I started grabbing some of my Mac pigments then I opened my Tarte palette and decided to use that instead.

My first Franken
So I got a bunch of my stuff to make some of my own polishes. I bought a bunch of different types of glitter, shapes, and stuff like that. Here is the first one I have made so far. I call it Dark Rainbow.
Growing out your hair?
Did you know that using a head massager will help your hair grow faster. It gives you the shivers when going over certain sensitive areas and causes your hair to come out faster... kind of like shivers cause leg hair to grow fast. The massagers are relatively cheap too. I got mine off of eBay for a couple bucks.

Hello Spring!
So I got some new stuff from Coastal Scents. I really like their brushes and thought I would try an eye palette. I got the Sydney Go Palette. It has 12 beautiful bright shades. I did the swatches in a different post for those who would like to see them. I still had on the Very Peacock-ish polish and wanted to do a look to match.

Coastal Scents Brushes
Brushes can be very expensive! After a bunch of looking around on the internet, I decided to try out a few from Coastal Scents. I like them and they are relatively cheap... priced that is. I'm sure there are peeps out there that would disagree. Anyways, I liked the ones I had purchased that I bought more. Below are pics of all the brushes with names :)
Homemade Headbands
I don't know if it's just me or do the elastic headbands always try to escape from me. It seems like they are too small and makes it hard to wear. So I decided to make some of my own. I went to JoAnns and bought some skinny black elastic and 1/2 a yard of ribbon... The fancy stuff you have to buy by the yard. I found that half a yard was perfect. I sewed some elastic on one side of the ribbon. I took the ribbon and placed it where I like to wear them and measured out how much more elastic was needed. I sewed the elastic on the other side and tested it out. Here are my masterpieces...
Coastal Scents Sydney Go Palette Swatches
I hadn't tried the Coastal Scents eye shadows until now. This palette has a lot of bright shadows that make me wanna go to the beach... very bright and summery. Love It!

Very Peacock-ish by All That Glitters
I got part of my nail polish order on Friday... Woohoo. This polish is called Very Peacock-ish by All That Glitters Nails. I placed the link to her polishes at the bottom.

Green Zebra print
So I have had these shoes for about 6 months and haven't worn them yet. They are made by Iron Fist. They have a bow in the back too which adds a bit of flair. Since it is St Patty's day I found an excuse to wear them. I am pairing them with jeans and a black top. I also painted my nails to match them :) I used a different stamp on each finger. Here's the pics...

How I give my ponytail some pizzazz
I love using hair accessories. I have lots of different things for decorating my hair. Sometimes I feel like pulling my hair in a ponytail. I always use a nice sturdy hair tie. I will usually grab either some bobby pins or elastic bracelets to make it a bit more. I put the elastic bracelets around my ponytail. With the bobby pins, I take strands of my hair and pin them around the ponytail to make a messy bun. It is something quick, easy, and cute. Here is a pic from my hair today... I used a matching headband and bracelet combo.
Nail art supplies
So I found a great place to buy different things for making your nails pretty and unique. The site is http://dollarnailart.com/ and everything costs only a dollar. I got my package today and was very happy. You have to buy $25+ worth of stuff but that means you can get 25 different items. I bought foils, rhinestone, sequins, laser strands, and laser lace. Very cool stuff. Check it out :)
Short Hair Chignon
So I love getting ideas from The Beauty Department's blog and they had a tutorial on putting short hair into a chignon. It is very simple. You need a headband with elastic and some bobby pins.

Dior Night Dust
Nubar Reclaim
My first Nubar polish... I am in love with it. My favorite color and holographic! I usually like to add extra pizzazz to my nails but I didn't want to cover up the polish. I might stamp them later for something different. Anyways, I used 1 coat of Orly Bonder, 2 coats of Nubar Reclaim, and 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense shadows
I am in love with the GA Eyes to Kill Intense shadows. They are a hybrid cream/powder. Apply wet or dry with fingers or a large eye contour brush. I have a total of thirteen all purchased by me. I will most likely buy more but that is for later. I thought I would swatch the ones I do have so you can see what they look like. I did not do any prep on my skin prior to swatching. All of these swatches are primer and base free.
Oh how nice it will be to have a little organization
I have an over abundance of nail polish... way too many to count. I decided to try to organize and store the polishes better. Check out my new nail polish rack...
It holds up to 220 polishes. I know I will still need one of my racks that hold 60 but I'm super stoked.
Seche Vite Top and Base coats
Did you know Walmart now sells Seche Vite? I think Sally's Beauty Supply has it the cheapest but whenever you run out and don't feel like driving far, a quick run to Walmart will do the trick :)

Stella blue eyes
So it's Saturday night and I decided to saty home. Since I didn't have anything going on, I thought I would do up a look with my Sugarpill Stella pigment. It is a charcoal holographic color. I liked the way it looked against blue shades so I grabbed a few colors and got to it.

Nails are my favorite accessory!
My nails are always shining through by showing my style and personality. I almost never have bare nails, and I am known to repaint them at least three times a week. Crazy, I know, but I love everything about perfectly polished nails! I usually try to do something different every time. Sometimes I even match my makeup or hair accessory to my nails.
I am looking to franken some polishes. I bought a few empty bottles, a bunch of different types of glitter and metal flake, and a refill of Seche Vite. I am thinking of making glittery top coats. Hopefully it comes out good. I can't wait for the stuff to arrive.

Starry Suprise
Those who know me know I love stars. I bought a new ploish from Kleancolor called Blind Date. It is full of multi colored stars. I also got to use my Max Factor Fantasy Fire. The combo was amazing. Soooo much sparkle. I couldn't help but stare at my nails in awe. It was like someone gazing at a new engagement ring.

Worst customer service ever!!!
I ordered 4 nail polishes from mbeautylounge.com. All seemed ok since I got a shipping confirmation the next day. I checked the status religiously waiting for it to update. After 10 days of waiting, I sent an email... Got no response. I went on to the site and emailed them through there... Got no response. I sent quite a few messages too. They finally mailed it two days ago... Still never got a response. I got the package today and it was missing two of the polishes. On the receipt, it shows a credit. I checked the credit status on the site and it said I have no credits. I checked my bank account and no refund of the difference. The phone number the bank is given is not in service. Not only do they owe me for the two missing polishes, they owe me the difference in shipping which is a total of $13.45. I have a feeling I will have to contact my bank and start a case. Ugh! Never use this site!
I was doing a bit of research and found there are quite a few others that have had the same experience. This is how they do business. The BBB gave them an F rating so it is really bad. I opened a case with the BBB. I also opened a claim with BoA. Let the bank do it!
So I have warned whoever reads this blog post. Do not buy from them unless you want to deal with bad customer service... actually lack of!!!
So a month after this whole fiasco, I received an email with a credit voucher for only the cost of the two polishes... as if I would bother going through this hassle again.

A few hair products I recommend
So I must start out telling you that I have naturally curly, over-processed hair. I have tried a lot of different hair products and for any kind of heat, I use Silk Elements protection spray. It leaves my hair soft and silky feeling. I get it at Sally's Beauty Supply.
I also recommend using Coconut Milk by Organix for hair similar to mine. Not only does it help seal the hair... it smells awesome! I also mix in some Bed Head with it. Talk about awesome curl action!
When I flat iron my hair, I use wax to seal the ends. I never iron it completely straight. I always have a little flip at the ends. The wax helps keep it from frizzing out. Of course, Washington weather prevents me from doing this often. There is something about moisture in the air that my hair doesn't like.
Black Velvet smoky with teal liner
Teal Mood!!! I was going through my makeup and started grabbing stuff but put most of it back after spotting my Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Siren. I was mesmerized by it.
Finishing touches for your mani
There is more to making your nails look great than just
polishing them… you must go that extra
mile and make sure they have a clean look to them. I try so hard to keep polish from going places I don't want it but it is inevitable. It will happen. Here is a tip on cleaning the mess.
TOOLS: A bottle of nail polish remover, a flat paint brush, Q-tips, and
a napkin.
- Pour a
little nail polish remover into the bottle cap.
- Get a
small, flat paint brush... I use Q-tips when cleaning up a bigger mess like excess stamping on finger.
- Dip
the brush or Q-tip in the nail polish remover.
- Carefully
go around the cuticle and clean up the excess nail polish.
- Wipe
the brush on a napkin to remove the polish so you’re not spreading it
around.

Ooooh pretty... Chunky Holo Black with silver scribbles
Kleancolor Chunky Black Holo is sooo awesome! I'm actually a big fan of their glitter polishes. They just have a sparkle that is intoxicating to me :) I wish my pics really showed the true beauty of the sparkle.
